Influences

I have a friend that has been a great influence to me and has had a great impact on my life.  She has the power and will to always do more, the will to never give up and always believe, no matter how tired she may be.    After some time, I was looking more deeply at people and judging them less.  I realized that everyone has a story and that I can never judge them just by what I see.  She has taught me to never give up and always believe and have faith no matter what.  Everyday is a chance to save someone’s life, and you will never know how or when it will be. Today, I was, again, reminded of that influence and how strong it is. So just because it rains in the morning doesn't mean it has to be gloomy all day.  And just because you don't understand the past doesn't mean you can't enjoy the present. The Beginning of Thoughts

  March 3, 2021 “Days to years stand gone but when all else has been forgotten,  our song lives on but we have to know some bad times or our lives are incomplete how does our happiness endure love is beauty  love is pure how does a moment last forever when our song lives on” Just watched Howard, about Howard Ashman - lyricist of Little Shop, Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, etc...[Even though those lyrics are written by Tim Rice...] Just feeling the immediate call to creativity and to use my time while it’s here. We never know when our time will be up and how can I just get out what’s truly inside? Coming into my 30’s where I have the confidence and gut to not always listen to people, and feel that I’m okay paving my own path. It will always be a struggle, but I have a solid foundation thanks to my privileges. Work + Art = ?

I'm dedicating a post to briefly talking about how to work while also continuing to do my own artwork.   If I'm being honest, this is probably one of my more productive summers.  I have never been very good at balancing art when I am working a whole lot.  Though senior year of college, I started to pick up the habit of drawing every day in my sketchbook to music (or when I forgot to do it everyday, I made up for those days).   After graduating though, it hasn't been quite that easy.  I was doing pretty well AFTER I finished working at Camp Jewell (so there was pretty much a whole summer missing), but then I "ran out" of sketchbooks.  Meaning I ran out of pages on the sketchbooks I wanted to draw in. So far this summer I have completed 3 pieces, and have worked on about 7 pieces.  This is a very small number, especially since I might have a show in September (plus 1 of the 3 was a gift).  On the upside though, I was able to create some more cr...
