Regular Basis

I am going to try to start making this a more regular thing.  I need to work tons  more on my art, so maybe keeping updated on this will help. Look for more fun things to come in the future! This semester is going to be crazy!

Finding Out

What did I really find out today? I'm not ready.

Semester 1

Finally the last work I did for the semester.  Sorry it took so long to put up.  The first four are from painting.  All are oil on wood (hollow doors) primed with gesso.  And the last three show the book cover I did for Inkheart by: Cornelia Funke. An amazing writer.  So hopefully the last two will help with the detail.  It took quite a while.  It is gessoed illustration board with gouache and colored pencil. Enjoy!

More Christmas Presents

Tangerines

Weepies again.. :) Tangerines are hanging heavy, glowing marigolden hues Teasing a half-pale moon And I feel a pull to the blue-velvet dark and stars. Pink Magnolia, blushing and coy Savors the sun while she shines You've got yours and I've got mine Together we glide through the blue-velvet dark and stars All it takes is a little faith, and a lot of heart [ Lyrics from: http://www.lyricsmode.com/lyrics/t/the_weepies/stars.html ] Back and forth we ply these oars They move in time and get entwined Green with joy then gray with sorrow Ripened fruit that falls tomorrow Filling us with brilliance Branches are bare with a pulse underneath Flowering slowly inside Your hands are warm and my body is wide To hold all the promise of blue-velvet dark and stars All it takes is a little faith and a lot of heart Sweetheart More lyrics: http://www.lyricsmode.com/lyrics/t/the_weepies/#share

Relationships

I find myself sometimes becoming jealous of my friends' relationships of other friends.  There is a bond, a connection, and an exciting feel one gets when meeting a new person and getting to know that person on a deeper level.   That is why I love retreats so much.  The sharing that happens on retreats does not normally occur in the real world until after an extended period of time has passed and spent between those people.   And though I have many relationships like that, I always find the desire for more.  To know more people on that level, and to be able to really know them.  To spend time laughing and crying with them.  I see the relationships other people have made with each other and I find myself always wanting more of that.   However, there are 7 billion other people in the world.  And I am more than thankful for the relationships that I already hold.
