Christmas Cards

They have begun!

My plan is to make one Christmas card a day (starting December 1st) until the 12th, and then send all of them that Thursday or Friday. 

And guess what! I am 2 for 2 so far!  Hoping this project will actually continue daily so I don't have to make 6 in one day.. haha.  

Monday is productive so far.  I have finally jumped on board after a busy Thanksgiving week.  So look for pictures of lots of art to come in the next couple of weeks!

Influences

I have a friend that has been a great influence to me and has had a great impact on my life.  She has the power and will to always do more, the will to never give up and always believe, no matter how tired she may be.    After some time, I was looking more deeply at people and judging them less.  I realized that everyone has a story and that I can never judge them just by what I see.  She has taught me to never give up and always believe and have faith no matter what.  Everyday is a chance to save someone’s life, and you will never know how or when it will be. Today, I was, again, reminded of that influence and how strong it is. So just because it rains in the morning doesn't mean it has to be gloomy all day.  And just because you don't understand the past doesn't mean you can't enjoy the present. Work + Art = ?

I'm dedicating a post to briefly talking about how to work while also continuing to do my own artwork.   If I'm being honest, this is probably one of my more productive summers.  I have never been very good at balancing art when I am working a whole lot.  Though senior year of college, I started to pick up the habit of drawing every day in my sketchbook to music (or when I forgot to do it everyday, I made up for those days).   After graduating though, it hasn't been quite that easy.  I was doing pretty well AFTER I finished working at Camp Jewell (so there was pretty much a whole summer missing), but then I "ran out" of sketchbooks.  Meaning I ran out of pages on the sketchbooks I wanted to draw in. So far this summer I have completed 3 pieces, and have worked on about 7 pieces.  This is a very small number, especially since I might have a show in September (plus 1 of the 3 was a gift).  On the upside though, I was able to create some more cr...
