30 Goals: Workouts

Some time has passed since I have last written, but I've been working on my goals since this year is the year! Hard to believe it's gone by so fast! Only a couple more months left to tie a few things up.

Obviously I won't be able to finish everything I had written down, but that doesn't mean some goals won't carry over to the next 5 year goal list.

For goals that I'm near completing or in the process of completing,
I'm still going to try to write about.

For this post, the goal is workouts. Ideally consistent workouts. Let's be honest though, it's hard to be consistent with anything daily or weekly (hence multiple art goals I've continued trying to do). But I have also come to the conclusion that sometimes persistence can lead to consistence. That being said, we all make mistakes and easily miss doing things even on a daily basis. Take brushing your teeth. I typically do this twice a day everyday, but there's always an occasion, or camping trip that it doesn't happen. Sure it's gross and I don't feel good about missing it, but it HAPPENS. And that is OKAY.

While I haven't been able to have a consistent workout regimen, I have taken steps to exercise more frequently. Something as small as just stretching before bed --which I used to do in college, and then slowly got out of the habit, and I greatly regret it. But I am trying to work it back in and not forget.

Then, we joined a community center to help us get out more in the winter instead of being holed up and only doing things on weekends.

And just the other day, I got asked if I would want to play on a coed indoor soccer team since they were lacking extra girl players. I ended up saying yes, and so now I'm officially on the team and will be playing a game almost once a week.

So even though my body is sore, my spirits are high and I feel better overall after taking time for some exercise. If anything, it's a release of work frustrations and a good time to just think or get in a different mindset.

Overall, it's a struggle to make myself go to gym or do exercises at home. But once I start, it's fairly easy to just do it.
